Practice Education for Social Work
Supporting students and NQSWs
With over 10 years experience in Practice Education, I have supported undergrad, masters, apprentice and Step Up students to meet their Professional Capability Framework (PCF) Domains in both statutory and non-statutory settings with success - I have a 100% pass rate!
I have also supported Newly Qualified Social Workers across a variety of Local Authorities to achieve a pass in their Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE) phase, again with every practitioner's portfolio achieving a "Pass" at moderation panel!
Services

121 supervision
These sessions take place at monthly intervals, starting with a supervision agreement and a discussion around learning and reflective styles to help me understand how best to support you during your time with me.
We will use a range of models, tools and methods to allow a development of reflective skills throughout your placement or ASYE phase linking theory to practice within the frameworks guiding your progression.

Group supervision
Monthly group supervision sessions are offered to all students and NQSWs in my cohort at any given time, allowing for a focus on a key social work topic with peers from different agencies, authorities and even different discourses.
I will provide reading and resources around each topic allowing you to take a deeper dive and link it to your own work.
You may also be asked to write a short reflective account on each topic to provide me with more evidence to support your reviews and final reports.

Peer supervision
This smaller group session may be with another student or NQSW in your agency/organisation where we use a more visual and active reflective method to hone in one case. Paired work allows for another set of eyes to consider areas of practice as well as provide peer feedback.
These sessions will be planned in advance and are often linked to recent direct observations.

Kind words....
“ Laura has given me the confidence to explore the different theories and be clear in my approach. I would have supervision every week if I could!”
