Laura Taylor

Trusted Trainer & Coach

Since entering the world of social work in 2005 I have always wondered "what if?"

What if there is a different way of doing this?

What if this isn't doing what we think it is?

What if something changed and we saw what we wanted to see?

It took time for me to realise what it was but since becoming a trauma informed coach in 2022, I have been able to use my knowledge and experience to harness an ability to coach and support parents and professionals to achieve progress in caring for children ACEs, insecure attachments and trauma.

My Story

After working for a Local Authority from the age of 18 for a few years, I changed teams to support Senior Managers in a Children's Services department and something just......"clicked!"

Fast forward to 2009 when I graduated from the University of Reading as a qualified social worker entering the big wide world of child protection (Consolidation of Professional Specialist Practice, Bournemouth University).

I shortly became a Practice Educator (Bucks New University), guiding students into the very same world.

A few years and a couple of children of my own later, I began a role in the fostering team of the same Local Authority and felt like I had come home.

The work I was doing with foster and kinship parents felt so right, and yet there was something missing.

However in 2018 I heard Sarah Naish and her daughter speak at a fostering conference and the final puzzle piece was in front of me.I spent time reading and learning as much as I could to then become a Therapeutic Parenting Coach (Inspire Training, The Centre of Excellence in Child Trauma.)

I'm now working independently to pull it all together to offer a range of trauma informed services.Outside of work I am a wife, mum to two boys and a have a cocker spaniel called Reggie who loves to visit new clients when possible.

You can often find me curled up with Reg, a cuppa and Netflix. If you would like to work together, get in touch.
